Spaces & Sessions
A Space is an individual configuration of Webfuse as a web proxy. A Space configuration consists of a set of security measures, a list of installed Apps and a list of installed Extensions. Each Space is accessible via a unique and persistent Space URL. Using the Space (i.e., the web proxy configuration) to browse the web happens through a Session. Technically speaking, a Session represents a virtual layer on top of any website, which allows the customization completely isolated from the original application host and source code. Custom domain and embedding capabilities allow seamless integration with the original or a third-party host for the end user. Within a Session, in a nutshell, the following things happen:
- Any website is dynamically served through a Webfuse proxy host, allowing universal embedding and extension.
- Any request is securely routed through the low-latency Webfuse infrastructure.

Webfuse allows sessions to be shared in real time, enabling a fully collaborative experience where multiple participants can view and interact with a live session. When Session Sharing is enabled in a Space, all participants can see the actions performed by the tab owner, fostering seamless collaboration, training, and co-browsing.
Space Types
Section titled “Space Types”Webfuse provides four preset types of Spaces to start from:
- Solo Space – A space to interact individually with any web application.
- Shared Space – A space to collaborate with others in any web application.
- Meeting Space – A space to meet with others and co-browse any web application.
- Assisted Space – A space to assist others interacting with any web application.
Unique vs Shared Sessions
Section titled “Unique vs Shared Sessions”By default, Webfuse generates a new Session per user opening the Space URL. Meeting Spaces enable collaborative Use Cases, such as recurrent virtual meeting rooms or ongoing support workflows. You can use it to have all users opening the Space URL participate in the same Session. In shared Sessions, Webfuse allows for real-time control switching between participants. The Host can grant control to another user, allowing them to interact with the Session as if it was their own.
